We’re proud to celebrate Kevin Alderton, a remarkable member of our blind golf community whose story inspires resilience, courage and joy through sport.
Kevin served 14 years in the British Army and faced profound life changes after losing much of his sight in a violent attack. Through rehabilitation, he rediscovered sport as a source of strength — first breaking records in disability skiing and more recently finding a new passion in golf.
After trying golf for the first time in 2002, Kevin found the game offered more than exercise — it brought fresh purpose, friendship and belonging. He now plays regularly in blind golf competitions, embraces challenges on the course, and is eager to keep improving with the support of guides, coaches and inclusive opportunities. ⠀
Kevin says, “Everything is achievable if you apply yourself,” reminding us all that resilience and determination can open new doors, even after sight loss.
We’re inspired by Kevin’s journey and proud to have him as part of our EWBG communit
