From football pitches to fairways 
At just 8 years old, Steve Cunningham was living the dream — playing for Aston Villa and dreaming of a future in football.
By 12, he had lost his sight.
What followed could have been the end of sport in his life — but instead, it became the start of something new.
Steve went on to captain the England Blind Football Team for over 20 years, competing on the world stage. But his journey didn’t stop there.
Years later, through EWBG, he picked up a golf club. A new challenge. A new way of playing. A new team beside him.
Now, Steve is back competing — this time on the fairways — proving once again that sight loss doesn’t limit ambition.
Different sport. Same determination. Same love of the game.
