We are absolutely thrilled to announce that one of our members, Amanda Large has just recently won GOLD in the tennis B2 category women’s singles, and SILVER in the B2 women’s doubles
Amanda had this to say.
“What a week it was at the IBSA Games 2023 World Games which only happens once every 4 years. It was an honour to represent GB again in tennis and fantastic meeting other athletes from around the world.
There was tough competition in every match and I’m over the moon to have gained gold medal, beating an amazing Luxembourg lady in the B2 women’s final! I still can’t believe it!
My doubles partner Rosie and I also made it to the finals which was against the Aussies, despite a great battle they were just too good for us, and we came away with the silver medal. None of this would have been possible without many hours of training, and more importantly an incredibly supportive, amazing bunch of team mates & coaches!
John and I are looking forward to joining the England & Wales Blind Golf team in the big challenge against the Scots! What a fantastic week of golf it will be!”
