ISPS Handa British Blind Open 2023

The Open took place at the Belton woods hotel on Tuesday 11th July through Wednesday 12th July. A good course but extremely tough with the poor weather that came through on those two days.

We had players from 7 countries from around the world, with the youngest being 16 from Australia, the eldest 86 from England.
31 players took part. The players were helped greatly by spotters out with each group. Supplied mostly from CADENT a company based in the East Midlands, we were most grateful for their support and assistance.

We also had Referees kindly supplied by England Golf.

EWBG are most grateful for the support of Dr Handa and the IBGA. Additionally the R&A. We should never forgot that blind golf would never happen without the guides so again a big thank you. We also had many people who give generously of their time which is greatly appreciated.

Countries represented:- Australia, Austria, England, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland and Spain.

Of the 32 players who turned up, 7 were B1, 12 players B2 and 13 category B3. Adjusted gross scores have been sent out. For many this was their first time playing in an IBGA sponsored event and we hope this continues.

The winners are shown below and a spreadsheet is also avaialable with details of scores.
