Following the tremendous success of last October’s ‘Have a Go Day of Blind Golf’, MySight York is delighted to announce a new monthly series of Blind Golf sessions in collaboration with York Golf Club and England and Wales Blind Golf (EWBG).d
The October taster event, which took place at York Golf Club, introduced visually impaired participants to the inclusive sport of blind golf – a team-based game that pairs a visually impaired golfer with a sighted guide or caddy. As EWBG describes, “Blind golf is a team game comprising of a visually impaired player and a sighted guide or caddy. They follow the same rules that all golfers follow with a few minor adjustments.”
Participants praised the day for its friendly atmosphere and excellent coaching. One enthusiastic golfer shared:
“It has got to be the best afternoon in a while. I so enjoyed the coaching with Mark – his encouragement and enthusiasm are first class. Thank you to the volunteer who supported me, for his caddying skills, guiding me and being brave enough to put the golf balls down for me.”
The York Golf Club’s professional also reflected positively on the event, noting the strong interest and warm spirit of the day.
Due to the overwhelming response, MySight York is excited to continue the collaboration by hosting monthly Blind Golf sessions on the last Wednesday of every month. Sessions will run from 2:00–3:00pm, with an optional tea or coffee available from 1:00–2:00pm.

MySight York warmly welcomes both returning and new participants to take part in this rewarding and inclusive sport.
